Top & Bottom Case Sealer

30 Series

Hot Melt Adhesive or Tape Sealing

For high performance top and bottom case sealing, these case sealers stand apart. They’re built tough to deliver years of reliable production with less maintenance. Offering wide flexibility and quick changeover. With features to ensure square cases regardless of your real world production challenges.

The Industry Standard for Top and Bottom Case Sealing

Simple in design, reliable in operation… that’s how we build A-B-C case sealers. Workhorse construction, quality components, proven technology and low maintenance designs have made these sealers the industry standard for top and bottom case sealing.

Model 30 sealers are built for high speed, three-shift-a-day operation, with exclusive features that provide total case control, smooth flap folding, and reliable sealing of every case, regardless of variations in corrugated quality. They’re sensibly designed with quality components, built into the heavy steel frame, to minimize downtime for maintenance. Our dedication to quality and performance has made these sealers the preferred choice for packagers in many industries.

Key Features That Benefit Your Production

Built for Top Performance

Quality construction for top performance and reliability

This case sealer's heavy gauge steel frame is welded and bolted for strength and vibration-free operation. The upper operating mechanisms are secured to the frame by a solid rack and gear system. Drive shafts are solid 1-1/4" steel.

The flight lugs are forged of cast aluminum, mounted on wear-resistant 1-1/2" pitch flight chain. A-B-C flight lug drive has been proven in thousands of case sealing applications as an extremely reliable and durable method of case transfer.

Clear guard doors enclose the machine, keeping your line operators safe while allowing full visibility of operation. Safety interlocks stop machine operation when the doors are opened to allow full access to the machine.

Nonstop Production Features

Mechanical case drive and proprietary flap folders ensure dependable production

Synchronized motorized flight lugs drive cases through closing and sealing, maintaining complete control and squaring cases as they are transferred. Flaps folders smoothly and gently the inner and outer flaps and take minor case variations in stride.

Cases are positively conveyed through tape sealing by the flight lugs. For adhesive sealing, motorized upper and lower compression belts ensure continuous operation.

Proven Features for Square Cases
M30 Proven Features for Square Cases

Reliable minor flap folding and case-squaring major flap closing

The trailing minor flap is closed by a reciprocating tucker that breaks and closes the flap at the score line. The major flaps are precisely folded by contoured flap folders that break the flaps at the score line then close them smoothly.

The adhesive sealer has a steel tongue that rides between the flaps as they are folded, squaring the case and preventing flap overlap. The tape sealer employs a guide rail that squares the case during tape application.

Even cases with poor, undefined scores are folded squarely and securely. This proven design is key to forming consistently square cases.

Motorized Compression Section for Secure Sealing
M30 Motorized Compression Section for Secure Sealing

Motor-driven and spring-loaded for top performance

Proper compression is the key to well-sealed cases that stay sealed and secure through palletizing, shipping and distribution. The M30 hot melt sealer offers a superior compression section designed for consistent sealing. Both the top and bottom compression belts move with the case during sealing, eliminating case drag that can occur in static compression sections.

The bottom compression belt is motor-driven and backed by steel transfer rollers. The top belt is supported by full width spring-loaded rollers that accommodate case height variations and ensure proper sealing.

Quick Changeover

Simple adjustments can easily be completed in minutes

Case size changes are simply accomplished by positioning the new case at the infeed and adjusting the height and width to the new case size using hand cranks. These adjustments require minimal operator training and can be easily completed in minutes. Adhesive settings are changed at the adhesive system control station. In minutes, the case sealer is back in production.

Quick tape roll changes

The M30 tape sealing model has features to eliminate wasted tape and to dramatically reduce lost production time for tape roll changes. First, both the top and bottom tape rolls are exterior mounted to allow easy access. Second, a “roll empty” sensor stops the sealer just as the end of the tape comes off the roll. The attendant simply replaces the roll and attaches the new roll to the tail of the last roll.

Low Maintenance

The rugged construction of the Model 30 hot melt case sealer is your guarantee that it will run longer with less wear or care. Yet this powerhouse case sealer has additional features to minimize your maintenance tasks.

The main drive gear assembly is enclosed in a lubricating oil bath to eliminate gear wear. Sealed bearings and self-lubricated air cylinders never need maintenance. The automatic water eliminator prevents air valve damage caused by water in air lines.

When routine maintenance or cleaning is necessary, the clear guard doors slide out of the way to allow machine access.
