Tablock Case Erector

Model 335

Hot Melt Adhesive Sealing

The M335 is a multipurpose Tablock case erector that performs precision tablock flap folding, case opening, squaring, bottom flap closing and sealing, in a small footprint, inline machine.

It offers easy flexibility to run multiple styles with quick changeover and delivers consistently square and securely sealed cases to the production line.

Top Performance and Reliability in Tablock Case Erecting

This versatile case former erects and seals RSC Tablock (Tieback), RSC, HSC, and CSSC cases and offers quick changeover with no change parts. It’s a robust machine, built for continuous production with years of proven performance on high speed packaging lines in container manufacturing, food and beverage, and non-food applications. It has a compact footprint that is 30% smaller than other tablock erectors, for easy installation on the packaging line.

Key to this erector’s superlative performance is A-B-C’s exclusive tablock module. It precisely folds the tieback flaps to the case body, ensuring smooth and reliable case opening and bottom flap closing. An all-mechanical, continuous motion drive powers the walking beam transfer that squares cases as they travel. Its floor level magazine is ergonomically designed for easy loading with minimal lifting. And, this machine is smart, offering simple operation and full plant integration. For reliable tablock case forming combined with total flexibility, the M335 box erector is the perfect solution.

Key Features That Benefit Your Production

Small Footprint Tablock Case Erecting
M335 Integrated Tablock Module

Space-saving design with integrated tablock module

At only 19 linear feet including the high capacity magazine and tablock module, this erector is 30% smaller than competitive machines. The innovative tablock opener is an exclusive design that folds the flaps smoothly without stress on the tabs that can cause tearing or early release.

To run RSC, HSC or CSSC cases, the tablock erector module is set at bypass mode. It's that simple.

Easy-load KD magazine
M335 Easy-load KD magazine

Low-level magazine eliminates lifting and extends time between refills

No more lifting heavy cases! This ergonomic, floor level magazine eliminates a potential source of liability found in mid and high level magazines. KDs are easily transferred from pallet to the magazine without stress. Your attendant simply positions them against the squaring rail, and the stacks feed automatically. KDs can be added at any time.

The standard high capacity magazine holds two KD stacks, giving your attendant more time between refills.

Magazine extensions are available for added KD capacity.

Magazine feeds off-spec corrugated

Top feed magazine accommodates warped and band-marked corrugated blanks

KDs are lifted from the top of the stack by dual, spring-loaded grippers that are forgiving to inherent corrugated variations and smoothly handle large, heavy corrugated blanks. The grippers independently adjust to lift the corrugated blanks from uneven stacks caused by warped or band-marked KDs. After cases are lifted from the stack, the slidebar positively indexes them to the opening station.

The horizontal, top feed magazine eliminates issues of back pressure that can cause misfeeding in vertically stacked magazines.

Precise control of case opening
M335 Precise control of case opening

Square cases start with total case control

After tablock flap folding, cases move to the opening station. Here, pneumatic grippers secure cases from below, while the mechanical, reciprocating arm lowers and grippers pull the cases erect. Cases are “over-opened” on the major flap to ensure smooth closing of the bottom flaps. This system efficiently opens corrugated with out-of-spec manufacturer’s joints.

A-B-C’s vacuum opening technology smoothly opens even warped and bent cases, unlike pin-style openers which require straight corrugated flutes for proper operation. An automatic blowback vacuum system keeps air lines clean.

Case-squaring features

Multiple features ensure consistently square cases

The walking beam transfer is powered by the mechanical, continuous motion machine drive. It provides smooth transport and keeps the case square as it moves from opening to sealing.

The adhesive sealing compression mandrel is built with opposing stationary lugs that square cases as they are sealed. The soft-glide compression ram precisely delivers full compression for secure seals.

Adjusts to your line

Hands-off operation includes line monitoring and auto response

The erector automatically senses and adjusts to changes in your line speed to prevent backups if there are slowdowns upstream on the line. The erector immediately returning to line speed once cleared.

Positive case discharge and handling

Supplying a continuous flow of cases to your packaging line

The standard M335 model includes a heavy-duty, adjustable discharge chute. This device uprights boxes as they exit the machine to the line conveyor, delivering a constant supply of square, well-sealed cases, oriented for efficient transfer to the packing station.

5 minute changeover

Minimize downtime with rapid case changeover

Changeover for the complete range of cases and sizes is easy and straightforward. The attendant simply selects the new style at the HMI and completes the manual adjustments with no tools–using rapid adjust hand cranks and slides with locking handles.* Automatic servo-powered adjustment is available.

* Tools are required to adjust the sealing mandrel for major size changes.

Intelligent machine control
M335 Intelligent machine control

Intelligent machine control simplifies setup and diagnostics

Operation is simple and repeatable for quick operator proficiency. At the touchscreen, you control all functions, diagnostics, and changeover settings following clear, step-by-step sequences. Real-time operating data is available at a glance.

Non-contact sensors monitor machine functions and ensure precise timing of each operating sequence. Troubleshooting at the control console is straightforward, with simplified drill-down to sensor level for immediate fault detection and quick resolution.
